Baskin-Robbins, the largest Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) ice cream chain worldwide, has announced the opening of its 1,000th location in India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region. The opening ceremony took place on September 16, 2024, in the bustling suburb of Andheri, Mumbai. The milestone was inaugurated by Inspire franchisee Graviss Foods in conjunction with Inspire leadership.
Inspire President and Managing Director of International, Michael Haley, expressed his excitement about the achievement. He stated, “We’re thrilled to celebrate this momentous occasion of opening our 1,000th location in India and the SAARC region.” Haley highlighted the brand’s dedication to offering exceptional and innovative experiences that cater to local tastes, underscoring their leadership in the QSR sector and ambition to expand further in the market.
Baskin-Robbins first entered the Indian market in 1993 through a partnership with Graviss Foods, which serves as the master franchisee in India and the SAARC region. The ice cream brand has tailored its offerings to suit Indian preferences, continually innovating to meet consumer demands. This adaptability has been key to Baskin-Robbins’ success, establishing a significant presence in the consumer market across India and the SAARC region.
Graviss Foods Managing Director Vikram Seth commented on the company’s future contributions to India’s economic growth. He stated, “As India continues its march towards becoming one of the world’s leading economies, Baskin-Robbins is committed to being a part of this journey, contributing to the economy, creating jobs, and delivering happiness to consumers through continuing innovation in our products and services.”
The opening of the 1,000th location is a reflection of Baskin-Robbins’ strategic use of high-quality ingredients and diverse flavor offerings, which have facilitated its expansion to over 290 cities, including both metropolitan areas and emerging non-metro markets. India now stands as one of Baskin-Robbins’ largest markets globally, with popular flavors such as Glub Jamun, Caramel Milkcake, and Rabdi Jalebi that draw inspiration from local delicacies.
