Bill Clinton New York City Marathon

NEW YORK CITY, New York — Former President Bill Clinton attended the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 2, where he was seen with a bandage on the tip of his nose. The 79-year-old was there to cheer on his daughter, Chelsea Clinton, who participated in the race.

Clinton’s appearance with the bandage raised eyebrows as many speculated about his health. Accompanying him was his wife, Hillary Clinton, 78, who also supported their daughter. The reason for the bandage was not immediately clear, but the former president appeared in good spirits as he embraced Chelsea, 45, after she finished the marathon.

This is not the first time public interest in Clinton’s health has been piqued. He has faced several health challenges over the years, including a quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 due to severe artery blockages. In 2021, he was hospitalized after a urinary tract infection spread to his bloodstream, but he recovered and was discharged shortly after. Last year, he was also hospitalized with fever and dehydration.

In August 2025, Clinton was seen leaving an airport with what appeared to be a defibrillator, furthering concerns about his health. Photographs from that day showed individuals accompanying Clinton carrying the medical device, known for its use in life-threatening situations.

The former president has largely remained out of the public eye since the reelection of Donald Trump, but he has occasionally engaged in political activities. Clinton congratulated Democratic Socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani on his primary victory earlier this year and delivered a speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in 2024.

After the marathon, Clinton’s bandaged nose and its implications for his health sparked online discussions, with some speculating on potential causes such as skin cancer or previous treatment for pre-cancerous lesions. Nonetheless, Clinton seemed undeterred as he supported his daughter on her special day.
