Blazers Win Annual Fan Fest Scrimmage as Season Approaches

Portland, OR — The Portland Trail Blazers hosted their annual Fan Fest at the Moda Center on Saturday, giving 7,000 fans their first chance to see the team for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season. The free event featured player introductions, a shoot-around, and a scrimmage.
During the scrimmage, which consisted of two 10-minute halves, Team Black defeated Team Gray 43-42. Veteran Jrue Holiday secured the victory with a left-handed floater in the closing seconds. “I just wanted to make a play for my team,” Holiday said after the game.
Sophomore guard Shaedon Sharpe stood out during the Fan Fest, scoring 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, including two three-pointers. “It’s just a glimpse, just a taste [of what’s to come],” he said, hinting at the team’s potential for the season.
Rookie Yang Hansen, also debuting at Fan Fest, contributed four points and demonstrated solid chemistry in pick-and-roll plays with teammate Caleb Love. Yang’s impressive moment came when he converted a difficult right hook shot over a defender. “It felt great to see the support from the fans,” Yang shared.
Blake Wesley, another new Blazer, showcased his speed and agility with several strong drives to the basket. He faced off against Holiday during the scrimmage, applying pressure in key moments. “I’m just working hard to earn my place,” Wesley commented.
In a lighthearted twist, rookies Yang and Love participated in a choreographed dance routine instead of the traditional song-and-dance performance. The crowd responded enthusiastically as veteran Damian Lillard introduced them while they wore colorful backpacks.
With Fan Fest wrapping up, training camp is also set to conclude, leading up to the Blazers’ preseason opener against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
