Jade Mckissic Missing University Of Houston

HOUSTON, Texas — The body of Jade “Sage” McKissic, a 20-year-old University of Houston student, was found in Brays Bayou on Monday, September 15. McKissic had been missing since September 10 when she was last seen near LA Burgers and Daiquiris.

Authorities recovered her body near 4998 Medical Service Drive, which is less than a mile from the university’s campus. The Houston Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, but the medical examiner has yet to release a cause of death.

A relative expressed shock at the news, mentioning that McKissic was an exemplary student involved in several campus activities, including a position as a desk assistant and participation in the student orientation team.

Paul Kittle, the Vice President of Student Affairs at the University of Houston, sent an email to students acknowledging McKissic’s death, describing her as a friend to many in the community. “We extend our condolences and support to the family as they navigate this unimaginable loss,” he wrote.

The university is currently providing counseling services for students who may be affected by McKissic’s death. The Houston Police continue to investigate, and further details are expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
