Boston Woman Arrested in Child Sex Trafficking Sting Operation

BOSTON, Mass. — A Boston woman has been arrested and charged following an undercover operation linked to sex trafficking and child exploitation. Shakera “Stacks” Pina, 29, was taken into custody on April 9. She faces multiple charges, including trafficking a person under 18 for sexual servitude, resisting arrest, deriving support from prostitution, and possession of a Class D substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute.
Pina’s arrest came after a Boston Police Human Trafficking Unit investigation. Detectives responded to an online advertisement featuring photos of a child. Police arranged to meet at a hotel to purchase sexual services involving a minor, according to the authorities.
At approximately 9:23 PM, police received a call from the number linked to the ad. A woman, identified as Pina, confirmed her arrival at the hotel about 21 minutes later. Upon entering, police found a 15-year-old girl and immediately identified themselves as law enforcement. The girl was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Investigators learned that the teen had been brought to the hotel by a woman known as “Stacks,” who was waiting in a nearby vehicle. Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Pina allegedly attempted to flee upon noticing law enforcement and was arrested after ignoring verbal commands.
During the arrest, officers discovered bags of marijuana, a digital scale, condoms, and cash in Pina’s vehicle. She was later arraigned in Boston Municipal Court, where she pleaded not guilty to all charges. Bail was set at $100,000 with conditions including GPS monitoring and no contact with individuals under 18.
An attorney for Pina has not responded to requests for comment. The Boston Police Department urges anyone with information regarding human trafficking in the area to contact their investigators at (617) 343-6533.
