Buffalo Woman Arrested After Striking Deputy Near Bills Stadium
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A Buffalo woman was arrested Sunday evening near Highmark Stadium after allegedly striking an Erie County Sheriff’s deputy with her vehicle and endangering pedestrians following the Buffalo Bills game, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Southwestern Boulevard and Touchdown Drive, where deputies were directing traffic to allow pedestrians to cross safely. According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, 37-year-old Dominique Tabb allegedly cut in front of another vehicle in the left exit lane and attempted to turn onto Southwestern Boulevard.
Deputies approached Tabb’s vehicle, but she refused commands to stop and accelerated, striking a deputy and putting pedestrians at risk, officials said. The vehicle became stuck in traffic, enabling deputies to apprehend Tabb. She allegedly resisted arrest and refused to exit her vehicle.
“This was an extremely dangerous situation, and I am relieved that nobody was seriously injured,” said Erie County Sheriff John Garcia. “We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior.”
The deputy who was struck completed their shift without requiring medical attention, according to the sheriff’s office. Tabb was taken into custody, charged with multiple offenses, and later released on an appearance ticket.
