Costa Rica’s Photography Talent Shines
Hey everyone! Today, we’re celebrating some of the coolest photography talent coming straight out of Costa Rica. MÍRAME Fine Art Gallery is showcasing the work of five amazing photographers: Julio Sequeira, Leonardo Ureña, Pepe Manzanilla, Juan Tribaldos, and Edwar Herreno.
Each of these artists has a unique take on Costa Rica’s stunning landscapes, rich culture, and vibrant wildlife. It’s a fantastic opportunity to appreciate the creative spirit of this beautiful country.
First up, we have Edwar Herreno, who is like a superhero underwater! His breathtaking underwater photography highlights some of the most stunning marine environments in Costa Rica. He’s even won the title of “Underwater Photographer of the Year” from the United Nations back in 2019, not to mention being a finalist in major international competitions.
Then there’s Julio Sequeira, who has over thirty years of experience capturing the true essence of his subjects, be they people or nature. He goes the extra mile, sometimes hanging from bridges or climbing trees to get the perfect shot. His portraits resonate with emotion and tell the story of his subjects.
Next up is Leonardo Ureña. With a background in graphic design, he gives a fresh twist to his landscapes. His “Nature” series is abstract and surreal, while his “Urban” series reflects the gritty and vibrant life in the city. He really balances artistic design with photography.
Pepe Manzanilla is another noteworthy artist who has been exploring Costa Rica’s unique biodiversity since moving here in 2009. His patience in landscape and wildlife photography shines through as he often spends hours in one spot waiting for the right moment. His detailed close-ups of insects are a real treat!
Finally, there’s Juan Tribaldos, who plays with abstraction to explore human experience. His work is inspired by literature and film and transforms everyday scenes into thought-provoking compositions. Juan also captures street photography to raise awareness about social issues.
