The Delhi Capitals Return To Visakhapatnam For Ipl Matches

Cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the return of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to Visakhapatnam, dubbed the ‘second home’ by the Delhi Capitals (DC) team. The DC squad members have already descended on the city, fine-tuning their skills at the YSR ACA-VDCA Stadium.

Visakhapatnam is slated to host two IPL fixtures, pitting DC against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 31 and facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 3. Details regarding ticket sales are set to be unveiled shortly.

DC skipper Rishabh Pant is set to make a remarkable return to the cricketing scene this IPL season following a perilous car accident in December 2022. Cleared for action by the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Pant has been actively training at the ground in Visakhapatnam.

Joining the DC squad in Visakhapatnam is the team director, Sourav Ganguly. Meanwhile, Australian cricket sensation David Warner, a household name in the Telugu States, has disclosed his imminent arrival in the city on Monday.

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is diligently preparing for the IPL showdown and anticipates capacity crowds for both encounters. Visakhapatnam’s IPL hosting rights mark a homecoming after a hiatus of nearly five years since the city last witnessed an IPL clash in May 2019, coincidentally, an eliminator showdown between DC and CSK.

Preparations are in full swing at the stadium, with talks scheduled with law enforcement and relevant authorities in the coming days to finalize security measures before ticket sales kick off. The eagerly awaited clash between DC and CSK holds special allure, as fans clamor to witness CSK leader, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, in action.
