Derrick Henry Baltimore Ravens Contract News

BALTIMORE, Md. — Derrick Henry, the Baltimore Ravens‘ star running back, has signed a historic two-year, $30 million contract extension, his agent Todd France announced on Wednesday. The deal includes $25 million fully guaranteed, making it the largest ever for an NFL running back over 30 years old.

Henry’s new contract comes after a standout 2024 season in which he rushed for 1,921 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. This impressive performance helped the Ravens maintain a key player in their offense. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the contract guarantees Henry a substantial payday as he gears up for his second season with Baltimore.

Originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2016, Henry joined the Ravens in 2024 after spending his first eight seasons with Tennessee. Last season, he appeared in all 17 games, demonstrating his resilience by accumulating a league-high 16 rushing touchdowns along with two receiving touchdowns.

The contract extension assures Henry’s role in the team’s plans through the 2027 season, as he continues to lead the Ravens’ backfield. Henry’s remarkable ability has established him as one of the league’s top running backs, having gained at least 1,000 rushing yards in six of his nine seasons.

“Derrick has proven time and again that he is a game-changer,” said France. “This extension reflects not only his ability but also the confidence the Ravens have in him moving forward.”

In his career, Henry has rushed for over 11,423 yards, scored 106 touchdowns in 136 games, and was recognized as a five-time Pro Bowler. His historic extension is a testament to his impact on the field, particularly as he approaches the tail end of his career.

The Ravens’ faith in Henry is exemplified by this new deal, which marks a significant financial commitment to one of the NFL’s elite players.
