Disney Animation and Kugali have released the official trailer for the highly anticipated animated series titled Iwaju, set in a futuristic version of Lagos, Nigeria. Iwaju is a creation by director Olufikayo Ziki Adeola and Halima Hudson, promising an exciting blend of African storytelling with state-of-the-art animation.
The story of Iwaju revolves around two main characters, Tola from the wealthy island, and her best friend Kole, a self-taught tech expert. Together, they embark on a journey of discovery as they unravel the hidden secrets and dangers that lurk within their contrasting worlds, offering viewers a thrilling coming-of-age tale.
Key creative minds behind Iwaju include director Olufikayo Ziki Adeola, production designer Hamid Ibrahim, and cultural consultant Toluwalakin Olowofoyeku.
