Dortmund’s Maatsen Finds Freedom and Form in Germany

Ian Maatsen, the left-back currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Chelsea, has found a new lease of life in Germany following a challenging spell at his parent club. Maatsen, who impressed during his loan stint at Burnley, felt restricted at Chelsea due to a lack of playing time.

The 22-year-old Dutchman expressed his gratitude towards Dortmund for their warm welcome and the trust they have placed in him since his arrival. Playing under the guidance of coach Edin Terzic, Maatsen has showcased his talents as a left-back, contributing significantly to Dortmund’s recent performances.

Despite the limited opportunities, Maatsen remains appreciative of the learnings and experiences gained at Chelsea’s renowned academy.
