Dramatic Extra Time Winner Sends Ajax Through To Europa Conference League Last 16

Ajax secured their spot in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League in a thrilling encounter against Bodo/Glimt, with Kenneth Taylor‘s extra-time strike sealing a 4-3 aggregate triumph.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, Ajax took command of the second leg as Steven Berghuis found the net with a sharp turn and finish.

The game saw early drama with Josip Sutalo receiving a red card for Ajax, matched by Albert Gronbaek’s dismissal for Bodo/Glimt later on.

Patrick Berg‘s goal forced the match into extra time, where Kenneth Taylor’s curling effort proved to be the decisive goal that sent Ajax through.

Despite Bodo/Glimt hitting the woodwork on three occasions and missing chances, Ajax managed to capitalize on their opportunities.

England midfielder Jordan Henderson was absent for Ajax, but the team’s resilience without him was evident in their progression to the next round.

The draw for the Europa Conference League last-16 stage is set to take place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Dinamo Zagreb completed a comeback against Real Betis to advance, with Cedric Bakambu scoring for Betis, only to be equalized by Takuro Kaneko’s strike.

Swiss outfit Servette also secured their place in the next round for the first time, as Timothe Cognat’s goal was enough to defeat Ludogorets by a 1-0 aggregate scoreline.
