Dylan Efron Joins ‘The Traitors’ Season 3, Steps Out of Brother Zac’s Shadow

Dylan Efron, younger brother of Hollywood star Zac Efron, is set to make his mark in the spotlight as a contestant on Season 3 of Peacock‘s hit reality competition show, The Traitors. The season premiered on January 9, 2024, and features Dylan among 20 other reality TV stars and personalities vying for a cash prize of up to $250,000.

Born on February 6, 1992, in San Luis Obispo, California, Dylan Efron has largely stayed out of the limelight compared to his older brother. Despite this, he has built a successful career behind the scenes as a producer and actor. Dylan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from California Polytechnic State University in 2013 and has worked on major projects like Ready Player One and Zac Efron’s Netflix docuseries, Down to Earth.

Dylan and Zac have collaborated on multiple projects, with Dylan often taking on production roles. During Zac’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, the High School Musical star expressed gratitude for his family’s support, saying, “I know there have been a lot of sacrifices that you guys have made for me in my life, and it couldn’t have been easy. Thanks for believing in me. You’re the reason I’m here today.” Dylan was present at the event, sharing a heartfelt moment with his brother.

While Dylan prefers working behind the camera, he has occasionally stepped in front of it, including a cameo in Down to Earth. His Instagram profile offers glimpses into his adventurous lifestyle, showcasing his love for outdoor activities like triathlons, surfing, and rock climbing. In 2020, Dylan shared a post about a life-changing trip to Nepal, where he got a tattoo to remind himself to “take chances and pursue passions with everything I’ve got.”

Dylan’s participation in The Traitors marks a new chapter in his career, as he aims to prove he is more than just Zac Efron’s younger brother. The show, hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming, pits contestants against each other in a series of challenges, with hidden “Traitors” attempting to eliminate the “Faithful” to claim the prize.
