Emergency at Troy Hospital: Active Shooter Report Sparks Agency Response

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Multiple law enforcement agencies are responding to Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital amid reports of an active shooter on March 20, 2025. The hospital located on Dequindre Road has been placed on lockdown as authorities investigate the situation.
Emergency messages circulated among hospital staff indicated an active shooter was in the parking structure. Staff members received instructions to implement personal safety measures and adhere to run, hide, fight protocols. Individuals not on-site were advised to stay away until the situation is deemed secure.
The Troy School District also communicated with parents, assuring them that while the hospital is experiencing an emergency, schools in the district remain secure. Kendra Montante, the district’s Director of Communication and Strategic Initiatives, emphasized that additional security measures are in place and that school officials are coordinating closely with local authorities.
“Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students and staff,” said Montante. The district will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
This incident marks a tense moment for the community, which is still grappling with the implications of gun violence. Local officials have stressed the importance of safety and preparedness in light of recent events.
As the situation develops, the public is urged to remain vigilant and respect the lockdown protocol at the hospital. This is an ongoing story, and authorities will update as more details emerge.
