Popular actress Motilola Akinlami has taken to social media to call out fellow Nollywood star Kunle Afod for allegedly sabotaging her career in the film industry. Akinlami expressed her frustration, detailing how Afod has reportedly been preventing her from securing significant roles in the past five years.

In a series of videos shared on her Instagram page, Akinlami revealed that she had decided to cut ties with Afod, which led to him allegedly blacklisting her in the industry. She recounted instances where Afod allegedly intervened to ensure she was not cast in certain productions, thus hindering her professional growth.

Akinlami specifically mentioned a job offer from Yomi Olorunlaye that was reportedly rescinded due to Afod’s directive. She further alleged that Afod had influenced others, including Femi Adebayo, not to collaborate with her, forcing her to refund payments for some projects.

Addressing Afod’s wife, Dasola, Akinlami called on her to intervene and prevent her husband from continuing his alleged actions. She accused Dasola of tarnishing her reputation online during her past association with Afod, leading to strained relationships within the industry.

Furthermore, Akinlami highlighted parallels between her situation and that of actor Junior Pope, suggesting a pattern of blacklisting individuals in Nollywood. Despite the challenges she faces, Akinlami remained resolute in her plea for Afod to allow her to pursue her career without interference.

Reactions to Akinlami’s public revelation varied, with some social media users expressing support for her while others urged caution and resolution between the two actors. The actress’s bold stance shed light on an aspect of the entertainment industry often shielded from public view.

Amidst the unfolding drama, veteran actor Kola Oyewo received a surprise visit from Kunle Afod, showcasing a different facet of the industry where camaraderie and connections persist despite personal disputes. Oyewo’s anecdote about his health challenges provided a glimpse into the lives of beloved Nollywood figures off-screen.
