Al-Ahli Dominate Damac in Saudi Pro League Clash
Al-Ahli put on a dominating display against Damac in a Saudi Pro League showdown, securing a convincing 4-1 victory. The match, characterized by an early flurry of goals, saw Riyad Mahrez and Roberto Firmino among the scorers for Al-Ahli.
Under the guidance of coach Matthias Jaissle, Al-Ahli wasted no time asserting their dominance as Ziyad Al Johani and Feras Al Brikan found the back of the net in the opening 25 minutes. Franck Kessie extended the lead with a penalty after being fouled by Dhari Al Anazi.
Not to be outdone, Firmino capitalized on a swift counterattack orchestrated by former Newcastle United winger, Allan Saint-Maximin, to add a fourth goal for Al-Ahli. Despite their early blitz, Al-Ahli slowed down in the latter stages of the match.
Al-Riyadh staged a remarkable comeback against Al-Fateh in a thrilling 2-2 draw. Despite playing with ten men for a significant portion of the game due to Khalid Al Shuwayyi’s red card, Al-Riyadh found late goals through Mohammed Al Shwirekh and Didier Ndong to salvage a point.
Meanwhile, Al-Hazm and Al-Akhdoud played out a goalless draw in another league fixture. The result sees Al-Hazm languishing at the bottom of the table, while Al-Akhdoud managed to move two points clear of the relegation zone.
