A Mexican court in Ensenada revealed shocking details of the events following the deaths of Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson, along with their American friend, Carter Rhoad. The court session involved Jesus Gerardo, known as «El Kekas,» whose last name was suppressed in accordance with local laws. The prosecution presented Ari Gisell, Jesus’s then-girlfriend, as a key witness in the case.

During the court proceedings, it was alleged that Ari informed authorities that Jesus had confessed to killing the three men. She recounted how Jesus had arrived at her house, stating, «I messed up three gringos,» which she later understood meant he had killed them. Jesus showed her the stolen tires from the victims’ car, highlighting the grim nature of the confession.

The victims, Jake and Callum Robinson, and Carter Rhoad, were discovered shot dead in a well near their campsite while surfing and camping in a remote area in northern Mexico. The prosecution detailed that the men were attacked by Jesus and others with the intention of stealing their vehicle, resulting in a fatal outcome.

Jesus, wearing an orange jumpsuit and shackled, faced charges related to the disappearance of the three men but had not yet entered a plea. The court hinted at a potential upgrade to murder charges in the coming days. The Baja California attorney general emphasized that additional charges would be filed related to the homicides.

Evidence collected from the crime scene included the victims’ burnt Chevrolet Colorado, tent rods, firearm shells, bloodstains, and tooth fragments. The court highlighted the vulnerability of the Australian and American men, who were in a foreign, remote location without support or communication.

Questions arose regarding the logistics of moving the bodies of the three men to the well where they were found, leading to speculation about possible cartel involvement. Jesus’s girlfriend, Ari, was arrested in connection with the case and faced drug possession charges. She mentioned Jesus’s history of abuse, indicating potential motives for cooperation with the investigation.

As the hearing concluded, Jesus remained in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for November 8. The tragic deaths of the Australian brothers and their American friend continue to unravel in the Mexican legal system, shedding light on a harrowing crime that has captured international attention.
