BANGLADESH Women put on a fantastic display against MALAYSIA Women in Match 11 of the Asia Cup Women’s T20 2024. The game, held on July 24, saw Bangladesh emerge victorious with a commanding win by 114 runs.

Batting first, Bangladesh Women set a daunting target, scoring 191 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets in their 20 overs. STAR players included Murshida Khatun, who scored an impressive 80 runs off 59 balls, and Nigar Sultana, who added 62 runs from just 37 balls.

Malaysia struggled in response, managing to score only 77 runs and losing 8 wickets within their allotted overs. Elsa Hunter was the top scorer for MALAYSIA, with a modest 20 runs, while Mahirah Izzati Ismail contributed 15 runs to the total.

The highlight of Bangladesh’s bowling attack was Nahida Akter, who secured two wickets while giving away only 13 runs. Ritu Moni also made her mark by claiming a wicket and conceding just 2 runs in her one-over spell.

The match featured a series of dismissals for Malaysia, with multiple players falling victim to sharp fielding and effective bowling from the Bangladesh team. Political dramas and on-field tensions were absent, allowing the game to unfold as a pure display of cricketing skill.

This impressive performance not only showcased the talent of the Bangladesh Women team but also raised their spirits as they look forward to future matches in the Asia Cup competition.
