India Women extended their lead in the five-match T20I series against Bangladesh after securing a 19-run victory through the DLS method at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The match, marred by rain interruptions, showcased a dominant display by the Indian side.

The Bangladesh team, led by Nigar Sultana Joty, struggled to find momentum in their innings as they were bundled out for 119 runs. Murshida Khatun’s resilient knock of 46 runs emerged as a lone bright spot amidst the challenging bowling attack of India.

In response, the Indian bowlers, spearheaded by Radha Yadav, delivered a stellar performance to restrict the Bangladeshi batters. Yadav’s impressive figures of 3 wickets for 19 runs played a pivotal role in dismantling the opposition’s batting lineup. Spinners Deepti Sharma and Shreyanka Patil also contributed effectively by claiming crucial wickets.

Pooja Vastrakar provided the finishing touch to the Indian bowling effort by dismissing Fariha Trisna, sealing Bangladesh’s innings on a modest total. Despite facing some resistance from Ritu Moni, who scored 20 runs, Renuka Singh had an off day with the ball conceding 40 runs without a breakthrough.

The Indian chase got off to a shaky start with Shafali Verma departing for a golden duck. However, the experienced duo of Smriti Mandhana and Dayalan Hemalatha steadied the innings with a match-winning partnership. Mandhana’s anchoring innings combined with Hemalatha’s explosive unbeaten 41 off 24 balls ensured India’s victory with comprehensive ease.
