BBC Proms 2024 Season Lineup Revealed at the Royal Albert Hall
The 2024 BBC Proms season has been unveiled at the illustrious Royal Albert Hall, promising a lineup of stellar performances from renowned artists and orchestras.
Conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Yo-Yo Ma are set to grace the stage, accompanied by the likes of the Czech Philharmonic, Aurora Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, and Bach Collegium Japan.
This year, the Proms will celebrate the anniversaries of classical masters like Anton Bruckner, Gustav Holst, Ferruccio Busoni, Gabriel Fauré, Giacomo Puccini, and a special 150th commemoration of Verdi‘s Requiem.
Notable soloists to watch out for include Yo-Yo Ma, Isata Kanneh-Mason, Sophie Bevan, and a world premiere by Ben Nobuto titled ‘Hallelujah Sim’.
The festival kicks off with the First Night conducted by Elim Chan, featuring a premiere of Ben Nobuto’s composition and performances from Sam Smith and Florence and the Machine, among others.
Concluding the Proms in grand style, the Last Night, under the baton of Sakari Oramo, will feature Sir Stephen Hough, Angel Blue, and a debut performance by Angel Blue.
Garsington Opera will make its Proms debut with Britten’s ‘Midsummer Nights Dream’, while vocal ensembles like VOCES8 and the King’s Singers are set to deliver captivating performances on selected nights.
