Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has taken on a new role as the Batting Coach and Mentor for the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The announcement was made by RCB on their social media platform.

Karthik, who recently retired from all forms of cricket after his stint with RCB in IPL 2024, is now set to share his expertise and knowledge with the RCB Men’s team as they prepare for future challenges in the cricketing world.

The official post by RCB welcomed back the seasoned cricketer, highlighting Karthik’s invaluable experience both on and off the field. The fans, affectionately known as the 12th Man Army, were urged to show their support for the newly appointed mentor.

Following his retirement announcement on social media, Karthik expressed his excitement about the coaching role, emphasizing his passion for the game and the opportunity to contribute to the team’s growth. He believes that his extensive experience as a player will bring added value to the squad.

Karthik, a familiar face in the cricketing world, had a prolific career with various teams in the IPL, including stints with RCB, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Daredevils. His retirement came after RCB’s exit from the tournament in a tough Eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals.
