ITV’s ‘Grace’ Renewed for Fifth Series Following Fourth Season Premiere
ITV has officially recommissioned the popular detective drama ‘Grace‘ for a fifth series, which will consist of four feature-length films. The series stars John Simm as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, and has captivated audiences since its initial launch in March 2021.
The new season, like its predecessors, is based on the best-selling novels by author Peter James. Each episode introduces a new criminal case for the Brighton-based Detective Grace to solve. The anticipated series will air on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player, further expanding its reach to a wider audience.
The fifth series will include adaptations of four novels: ‘Dead If You Don’t’, ‘Dead At First Sight’, ‘Need You Dead’, and ‘Find Them Dead’. Many familiar faces will return, including Richie Campbell as DS Glenn Branson, Zoe Tapper as Cleo Morey, Laura Elphinstone as DS Bella Moy, Brad Morrison as DC Nick Nicholl, and Sam Hoare as ACC Cassian Pewe.
Executive Producer Phil Hunter expressed excitement about the continuation of the series, stating, ‘It’s fantastic that Grace is back for a fifth series and we get to adapt another four of Peter’s brilliant books for ITV.’ Similarly, author Peter James shared his enthusiasm, commenting on the remarkable journey of the show since its debut.
The premiere of the fourth season is set for September 1, 2024, at 8:00 PM on ITV. This installment aims to feature the most gripping storylines yet, further enhancing the series’ reputation among fans.
