KKR Clinches IPL 2024 Title with Dominant Win over SRH in Low-Scoring Final
Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched the IPL 2024 title with a commanding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a low-scoring final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Mitchell Starc‘s impressive bowling performance helped KKR restrict SRH to a paltry total of 113 runs, the lowest-ever in an IPL final.
Australian left-arm fast bowler Starc, along with Andre Russell and Harshit Rana, played crucial roles in dismantling the SRH batting lineup.
In response, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer‘s aggressive batting ensured KKR a comfortable eight-wicket victory to lift the IPL trophy for the third time in history.
The IPL 2024 prize money remains unchanged from last year, with KKR earning INR 20 crore for their title triumph, SRH receiving INR 12.5 crore for finishing runners-up, and Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking home INR 7 crore and INR 6.5 crore, respectively.
Virat Kohli claimed the Orange Cap for being the leading run-scorer in IPL 2024, while Harshal Patel secured the Purple Cap for being the highest wicket-taker.
