Magasela Mzobe Appointed Head of Presidency in MK Party
Magasela Mzobe, a former member of the EFF, has recently been appointed as the head of the presidency in the MK Party, led by Jacob Zuma. This strategic move aims to delegate responsibilities, allowing Zuma to focus on crucial matters.
Mzobe highlighted the importance of streamlining tasks to optimize Zuma’s time and effectiveness as a president. By reducing the number of visitors to his office and focusing on key presidential responsibilities, the goal is to create a more efficient organizational structure.
With Zuma’s expanding duties, Mzobe’s role will involve close collaboration with the party’s MPs, acting as the intermediary between the presidency and parliamentary affairs.
Having previously worked under Zuma’s leadership during his time as the ANC president, Mzobe expressed confidence in his ability to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to him in the MK Party.
Regarding his decision to transition from the EFF to the MK Party, Mzobe emphasized the alignment of values and constituencies between the two parties. He received support from EFF leaders during this transition and emphasized the amicable nature of his departure.
TimesLIVE spoke to Mzobe, shedding light on the rationale behind his decision and the opportunities that lie ahead in his new role within the MK Party’s leadership structure.
