2024 Mbombela Music Awards Celebrate South Africa’s Top Musical Talent

The winners for the 2024 edition of the Mbombela Music Awards in South Africa were announced at Mbombela Stadium, in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa on 27 April.

Amapiano artists Questo and The Josh and Lady Du were the biggest winners with four awards in the Best Amapiano, Song of the Year, Best Produced Album and Best Collaboration categories.

The dynamic pair’s creative partnership on the nine-track Isimo album yielded impressive results, securing them the prestigious Best Produced Album award at this year’s ceremony. Moreover, their smash hit single ‘Imithandazo’ from the same album dominated the remaining three categories, sweeping the top honors.

Artist Izenzo bagged two wins, securing the Best Male and Best Music Video awards for the hit single ‘Izenzo’, collaborating with Bassie from their album of the same name.

Maskandi artist Lwah Ndlunkulu, an Inkabi Records signee, clinched the coveted Artist of the Year award, outshining heavyweights like Grammy winner Ndlovu Youth Choir. However, she missed claiming the Best Female Artist trophy, which was awarded to Simmy, beating out other prominent nominees.

Nontokozo Mkhize and DJ Kotin scooped the Best New Artist and Best Kwaito/Gqom awards respectively. Boasting exceptional talent, the winners further solidified their positions in the industry.

Legendary groups Boom Shaka and TKZee received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for their outstanding contributions to the music industry, solidifying their enduring impact.
