Disney‘s highly anticipated Star Wars series, The Acolyte, unveiled a new trailer teasing an intriguing mystery surrounding its characters and plot. Set to premiere on Disney Plus, the series appears to explore the grey areas of the Jedi order’s morality, echoing themes from Rian Johnson‘s film.

In the latest trailer, viewers caught a glimpse of Mae, a former Jedi student portrayed by Amandla Stenberg, who becomes entangled in a string of murders being investigated by Jedi master Sol, played by Lee Jung-jae. The trailer hints at Mae potentially being a suspect in these murders, adding layers of intrigue to the narrative.

Additionally, a menacing villain with a zipper-faced helmet and a red lightsaber was introduced, sparking anticipation and speculation among fans. The eerie atmosphere of the trailer, set in a foggy jungle, hints at a possible confrontation between this new villain and Sol, adding an element of suspense to the upcoming series.

The mysterious villain’s appearance, reminiscent of Kylo Ren’s helmet, raises questions about their connection to the Sith and their intentions in the story. Could they be the primary antagonist of the series, or is their role more complex than initially perceived?

The Acolyte features a talented ensemble cast, including Carrie-Anne Moss, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Joonas Suotamo, further adding to the anticipation surrounding the show’s premiere date on June 4th with two initial episodes on Disney Plus.
