Olympic Skateboarding Star Sky Brown Ventures into Children’s Book Writing with ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Skateboarding’

15-year-old Olympic skateboarding sensation, Sky Brown from Great Britain, has taken a fresh step into the world of children’s literature with her upcoming book, ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Skateboarding’.

In this innovative move, Brown, who made waves at the Tokyo Olympics, sheds her physical skater persona to come alive as a 10-centimeter-tall character sketched by artist Shaw Davidson for her book.

Titled as a part of ‘The Life-Changing Series’, Brown’s book joins other notable works by individuals like chess grandmaster Maurice Ashley, baking expert Joy Wilson, and young musician Nandi Bushell.

In this 40-page illustrated guide, Brown traces her journey from childhood belly-boarding escapades to her exhilarating bronze win at the Tokyo Olympics, with a vivid recount of her successes in ‘Dancing with the Stars: Juniors’ as well.

For Brown, the book serves a dual purpose – a colorful autobiographical account and a beginner’s manual to the art of skateboarding, replete with step-by-step tutorials of tricks like ollies, kickflips, and frontside 180s.
