Rivers State Governor Fubara Announces Panel to Probe Past Administration
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, revealed plans to establish a panel to investigate the governance of the state over the past eight years under his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who now serves as a minister.
Governor Fubara made this announcement following the swearing-in of Dagogo Iboroma as the state’s Attorney General, after his confirmation by the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led House of Assembly.
Fubara urged Iboroma to swiftly assemble the inquiry panel to scrutinize the state government’s activities during the previous 8 years.
He emphasized the critical state of affairs in the state, indicating that the ongoing political crisis could not be easily resolved.
The governor accused his opponents of deliberately undermining his government, expressing his resolve to make firm decisions despite their potential impact.
Responding to critiques from former Attorney General, Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN), and ex-Minister of Works, Alabo George-Kelly, Governor Fubara accused Adangor of undermining his administration by pursuing nolle prosequi against the state’s interests.
