The renowned theater company, Theatrical Outfit, has unveiled its highly anticipated 2024-25 season lineup, showcasing a diverse array of productions that promise to captivate Atlanta audiences. The season will feature an American classic, a holiday favorite, an Atlanta premiere, and a world premiere hip-hop musical, ensuring a rich tapestry of theatrical experiences.

Opening the season on September 11, Theatrical Outfit will present a production of Lorraine Hansberry’s iconic play, ‘A Raisin in the Sun,’ in collaboration with Dominion Entertainment. The cast, including talented actors from Atlanta, will bring to life the timeless story of the Younger family as they navigate the challenges of pursuing their dreams amidst societal pressures.

Following the season opener, the theater will once again enchant audiences with a beloved holiday production as Philip Grecian’s adaptation of ‘A Christmas Story’ returns on November 20, starring the charismatic Tom Key as the narrator, a role he has masterfully portrayed in previous runs.

In a groundbreaking partnership with The Breman, Theatrical Outfit will co-produce ‘The Lehman Trilogy,’ a compelling play by Stefano Massini adapted by playwright Ben Power. This production, running from February 5 to March 2, delves into the fascinating rise and fall of the Lehman Brothers’ investment firm, offering a riveting exploration of finance and family dynamics.

Closing the season on a high note will be the world premiere of ‘Young John Lewis,’ a musical with music by Eugene H. Russell IV and a book and lyrics penned by Psalmayene 24. This innovative production will chronicle pivotal years in the life of the esteemed activist and politician, celebrating the enduring legacy of a local pioneer in the Civil Rights movement.

In addition to these compelling mainstage productions, Theatrical Outfit will introduce ‘Launchpad‘ in March, a festival showcasing works created in Atlanta by emerging artists who have received commissions to develop new material over a six-month period. Associate Artistic Director Addae Moon expressed excitement about this initiative, drawing inspiration from the theater’s origins in a former laundromat on North Highland Avenue.

This season’s dynamic lineup reflects Theatrical Outfit’s commitment to presenting diverse, thought-provoking, and engaging performances that resonate with Atlanta’s vibrant arts community. With collaborative partnerships and innovative storytelling at the forefront, the theater continues to push boundaries and inspire audiences.
