Three children who went missing after a day at Thorpe Park in Chertsey have been located safe in London, confirmed by Surrey Police.
Khandi, 14, Amelia, nine, and Malik, seven, were reported missing following their visit to the popular amusement park in Chertsey, with all three children known to each other and having traveled to Surrey from Milton Keynes.
Det Supt Trevor Struthers expressed gratitude for the concern caused by the incident, especially given the young ages of the missing children, emphasizing the collective relief at their safe discovery.
Detailing the extensive efforts to locate the children, Struthers credited the public, media, and police officers for their tireless work and the support received throughout the search.
Earlier sightings indicated that the children were heading towards Chertsey town centre, with a reported sighting at a local florist captured on CCTV, narrated by Samantha Williams who owns House of Flowers. The oldest child sought directions before the group hurriedly exited the store towards a nearby train station.
The collaborative effort between the public and law enforcement played a pivotal role in the successful outcome of the search, reaffirming the importance of cooperation in such critical situations.
