Tyla debuts fantastical sand dress at Met Gala

Tyla made a stunning entrance at the 2024 Met Gala, trading water for sand in a fantastical gown created by Balmain. The theme for the event was ‘The Garden of Time,’ and Tyla embraced it by wearing a dress symbolizing the sands of time, designed by Balmain.

Olivier Rousteing, the creative director of Balmain, was inspired by the idea of ephemerality and transformed the concept into a masterpiece with Tyla’s dress. Made of sand in three colors and embellished with micro crystal studs, the gown shimmered as she walked.

For her debut at the Met Gala, Tyla opted for a unique and out-of-the-box look that captured the essence of the event’s theme. The strapless dress hugged her figure before flowing into an organza mermaid train, creating a striking silhouette.
