The University of Nigeria (UNN) has taken decisive action by suspending Mr Mfonobong David Udoudom, a faculty member in its General Studies department, following the emergence of a video wherein he appears to be harassing a female student.

The announcement of the suspension was made by the Acting Public Relations Officer of the University, Okwun Omeaku, who stated that the suspension is indefinite and effective immediately, pending the outcome of an internal disciplinary panel that has been set up to investigate the incident.

Omeaku emphasized the University’s strong stance against any form of sexual misconduct involving its staff and students, highlighting the existence of a comprehensive Sexual Harassment Policy at UNN that governs interactions between faculty and students as well as among staff members.

The University’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of its students and ensuring a safe learning environment was reiterated, with reassurances that if Mr Mfonobong David Udoudom is found guilty by the disciplinary panel, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken according to the institution’s rules.
