Wisconsin Badgers Enter National Basketball Rankings
The Wisconsin Badgers have made a notable entrance in the latest national college basketball rankings. Following a strong start to the season, the Badgers were placed at No. 19 in one poll and No. 25 in another, marking their season debut on these prestigious lists. This ranking acknowledgment comes after Wisconsin’s impressive 4-0 start, where they secured wins with an average margin of 20.5 points per game.
A standout performance came against the then-Ninth-ranked Arizona Wildcats, where Wisconsin achieved a 15-point victory. This win marks the largest margin over a top-10 opponent since a decisive win against Michigan State in February 2010. Additionally, the Badgers set a new high by scoring 103 points against a ranked team.
The recognition from pollsters arrives as the Badgers prepare to play the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros at the Kohl Center on Monday evening. The Vaqueros hold a 3-2 record after victories over Champion Christian College, Charleston Southern, and Tennessee Tech, following losses to Nebraska and Creighton.
For the Badgers, a win on Monday would align with their best season start under head coach Greg Gard‘s leadership, now entering his tenth season with the team. As the Badgers seek to maintain their momentum, all eyes will be on their performance in the upcoming home game.
