Exciting Quarterfinals Start at Roland-Garros 2025

PARIS, France — The quarterfinals at Roland-Garros 2025 kicked off on Tuesday, June 3, featuring thrilling matches for both men and women. Top-seeded players are vying for spots in the semifinals, with the spotlight on returning champions and rising stars.
World number one Jannik Sinner advanced after defeating Andrey Rublev, while Novak Djokovic also moved forward in the tournament. The two will face Alexander Bublik and Alexander Zverev, respectively, on Wednesday, June 4.
Before those matches, Italian tennis player Lorenzo Musetti will take on American Frances Tiafoe on the Philippe-Chatrier court on Tuesday. The match begins at 1:20 p.m. local time and will be followed by the men’s quarterfinal featuring Tommy Paul against reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz in the night session.
Alcaraz, who won Roland-Garros in 2024, aims to capture his second title. Following an impressive match against Ben Shelton, where he learned from early mistakes, Alcaraz is focused on defeating Paul, who is looking for his first semifinal appearance at the French Open.
Amidst the excitement, the tournament has not been kind to French players. After the withdrawal of Arthur Fils and Ugo Humbert and the defeat of Quentin Halys against Holger Rune, only one French representative remains: Loïs Boisson. Ranked 361st in the world, Boisson has surprised everyone by reaching the quarterfinals after knocking out four higher-ranked players, including world number three Jessica Pegula.
Boisson’s match against Mirra Andreeva, the sixth-ranked player, is set for June 4. World number one Iga Swiatek is also scheduled to play against Qinwen Zheng earlier that day.
As the quarterfinals unfold, tennis fans can expect high-stakes action on the clay courts of Paris. The tournament continues to captivate with thrilling matches and dramatic moments.
