Former Fifth Harmony member, Camila Cabello, has revealed details about her upcoming album, ‘Familiar’, set to release on June 28. This marks her fourth solo studio album since parting ways with the popular girl group.

The lead single of the album, ‘I Luv It’, featuring Playboi Carti, was introduced in late March. Produced by El Guincho and Jasper Harris, the track sampled Gucci Mane‘s 2009 hit ‘Lemonade’ and made its way to number 81 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Speaking on the inspiration behind ‘I Luv It’, Cabello expressed how rare chemistry with someone made her feel like she’s in outer space. She described the emotional intensity and chaos in relationships as both exhausting and exhilarating, capturing the essence of the track.

Camila Cabello last released ‘Familia’ in 2022, featuring singles like ‘Don’t Go Yet’ and ‘Bam Bam’. Prior to that, her self-titled debut solo album in 2018 and ‘Romance‘ in 2019 were well-received by fans.

Outside of music, Cabello’s appearance in the indie drama ‘Rob Peace’, showcased at the Sundance Film Festival, has garnered attention. In the film, she portrayed the girlfriend of the main character, Jay Will, who resorts to selling drugs to support his incarcerated father’s legal battles.

In a statement, Cabello emphasized the importance of highlighting complex stories like ‘Rob Peace’, challenging simplified narratives of success and struggle in society.
