LOS ANGELES, March 24, 2025 — Epic Games is set to launch Fortnite OG Season 3 on March 25, taking players back to a pivotal time in the game’s history that first began in February 2018. This new season promises to infuse nostalgia while introducing exciting new features, including the return of the iconic meteor.

The launch of OG Season 3 comes in response to fan desires for a deeper connection to Fortnite’s earlier chapters, particularly as many players noted a stagnation in content during Chapter 6 Season 2. “It’s time to brace for impact,” read a statement from the official Fortnite account, hinting at the impending meteor’s return, as players reminisce about its significant role in the game’s lore.

Promotion for the new season has included two teasers. The first features a reflective astronaut helmet showcasing the Fortnite island and the ominous meteor above it, indicating a narrative twist—especially with the emphasis on lore that began with Season 3’s original storyline. The second teaser reveals a trailer highlighting the three new OG Pass skins. These skins appear to blend elements from existing characters paired with familiar motifs from the past.

“We are excited to bring back classic elements from the original seasons along with fresh twists,” said a representative from Epic Games. The OG Pass will include three remixed skins: Power Chord with an astronaut helmet, Rex upgraded with heavy armor, and a knight version of Raven. This season appears highly shop-oriented, departing from the strictly battle pass-centric approach of the first two OG seasons.

The map will retain much of the structure from Season 2, with only minor modifications. Players can expect to encounter variations of the old map, though Lucky Landing, an Asian-themed locale, will reappear south of Fatal Fields. As players progress through the season, the meteor will become an active part of gameplay, influencing match dynamics as fragments fall, reminiscent of the original, exciting gameplay changes.

Additionally, the Fortnite OG Season 3 Pass, priced at 1,000 V-Bucks (approximately $8.99 or £6.99), will offer 45 tiers of rewards for fans eager to enhance their gameplay. Those interested in a subscription can access the pass through the Fortnite Crew for $11.99 monthly. This season will also reintroduce classic gear and weapons, including the Guided Missile, Hand Cannon, and Hunting Rifle, ensuring that players have familiar tools for their engagements.

The return of the 50v50 Limited Time Mode (LTM), titled OG 50v50, will provide an opportunity for large-scale battles, a hallmark of Fortnite’s earlier gameplay experience. The event will run until April 14, 2025, allowing new and returning players to dive into Fortnite’s historical battle experiences.

As players gear up for the launch, excitement builds around the prospect of reliving iconic moments while exploring new features. The adventure will officially commence with the start of Season 3, and players are encouraged to prepare for an engaging return to Fortnite’s storied past.

The rewarding journey through Fortnite OG Season 3 will conclude on June 8, 2025, providing ample time for fans to rediscover the game they love.
