Golden State Warriors Conclude Preseason with Clash Against Los Angeles Lakers
The Golden State Warriors are set to conclude their preseason schedule with a matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. The game will take place at 7:30 PM PT at the Chase Center in San Francisco and will be broadcast on ESPN 2.
Friday’s contest marks the second preseason meeting between the Warriors and the Lakers, with Golden State having previously secured a victory against them earlier this week. In that match, Andrew Wiggins made his preseason debut, joining Stephen Curry, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, and Trayce Jackson-Davis in the starting lineup. Wiggins recorded 11 points, shooting 3-of-9 from the field, while struggling with his three-point attempts, going 0-of-3.
Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr expressed satisfaction with the starting lineup’s performance, highlighting the impact of Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins running the floor. “The key is JK and Wiggs running the floor. It puts a lot of pressure on teams,” Kerr stated, as reported by Sam Gordon.
This encounter will serve as the regular season “dress rehearsal” for Golden State, as all players are expected to be available, including guards Brandin Podziemski and De'Anthony Melton, who are returning from injuries. Dalton Johnson reported that both players practiced and will be ready for the game.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers will be without their star player LeBron James, who did not participate in Thursday night’s game. The focus for the Warriors will be on Steve Kerr’s rotation plan, which he has recently outlined, providing fans with a glimpse of what the initial 10-man rotation for the regular season might look like.
The Warriors boast an unbeaten 5-0 preseason record, while the Lakers hold a 2-3 record. Friday’s game promises to offer valuable insights for the upcoming regular season.
