Grand Theft Auto 6 Confirmed for Fall 2025 Release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Take-Two Interactive has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will be released in the fall of 2025. This confirmation came during the company’s latest quarterly earnings report, putting to rest rumors that the game’s release might be delayed until 2026.
The game will initially be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, with the release window set between September, October, and November 2025. The PC version, however, is not expected until late 2026 at the earliest.
The GTA franchise continues to be a massive success, with over 435 million units sold to date, and Grand Theft Auto V alone accounting for 205 million of those sales. This sets high expectations for GTA 6, which is anticipated to break several sales records upon its release.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed confidence in the release timing, stating that the company is “highly confident” about the fall 2025 launch. Zelnick also highlighted other upcoming titles, including Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country, which are scheduled to release before March 2026.
Despite the confirmation, there is still no official word on a specific release date within the fall window, although some speculation suggests October 2025 based on historical release patterns of the GTA series.
