Hoda Kotb New Orleans Super Bowl Celebration

NEW ORLEANS – Hoda Kotb celebrated the Philadelphia Eagles‘ victory at Super Bowl 59 at Caesars Superdome on February 9, 2025, sharing joyful moments on social media. The former TODAY co-anchor posted pictures captioned “Oh what funnnnn!!!” and included the hashtag #nolastrong, honoring the city’s resilience following a January 1 terror attack on Bourbon Street that resulted in 14 deaths.

Kotb, who described New Orleans as her “second home,” previously worked as a local news reporter in the city before joining NBC. Her Instagram carousel featured various snapshots, including one with 9-year-old Eagles fan Declan LeBaron, who received surprise tickets to the game from actor Bradley Cooper on live television last week.

Adding to the excitement, Kotb’s post included a picture with actor Kevin Costner, leading to playful comments from her NBC colleagues. Savannah Guthrie teased, “New couple alert,” while Jenna Bush Hager chimed in, “We have been waiting for this moment.” This banter follows a June 2024 TODAY interview where fans noticed chemistry between Kotb and Costner, igniting hopes of a potential romance.

As for the game, the Eagles secured a decisive 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni expressed his emotional reaction after the win, sharing he was “shedding happy tears” as he lifted his youngest son, Miles, and shouted, “E-a-g-l-e-s!”

The Eagles came into the game eager for revenge following their loss to the Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl. They dominated the field, holding the Chiefs scoreless until late in the third quarter. Despite a late-game surge from the Chiefs, including a touchdown and successful two-point conversion, the Eagles maintained control, celebrating their second Lombardi Trophy win.

A highlight of the event was Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance, which included a censored version of his controversial track addressing ongoing tensions in the music industry. In attendance were celebrities like Sir Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, and Cooper, who interacted with fans and fellow stars throughout the afternoon.

While many celebrated, not all received warm welcomes. Taylor Swift, present to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce, faced boos from Eagles fans when shown on the jumbotron. The unexpected reaction startled Swift, who was seen reacting in disbelief alongside musician Ice Spice.

As the Eagles and their fans rejoiced with the win, moments from the day, filled with fans showcasing their team spirit and local icons resonating throughout the crowd, signified a shared love for the sport and the city. The event not only highlighted the Eagles’ triumph but also emphasized the resilience and spirit of New Orleans, a city still healing from tragedy.
