Kansas City Chiefs Aim for Historic Three-Peat in Super Bowl 59

NEW ORLEANS – The Kansas City Chiefs will attempt to make history as they face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 at the Caesars Superdome on Monday, February 10, 2025. The game, broadcast exclusively in Africa on ESPN and ESPN2, marks the 11th time New Orleans has hosted the event.
The Chiefs, defending champions, are vying to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls. Standing in their way are the Eagles, their opponents from Super Bowl 57, who are determined to reclaim the title. The matchup features some of the league’s biggest stars, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Chiefs, and Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown of the Eagles.
Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar will headline the halftime show, returning to the Super Bowl stage after his 2022 performance alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige. Lamar, a 17-time Grammy winner, continues the tradition of high-profile halftime performances, following Usher‘s show in 2024.
For fans unable to watch live, ESPN will air full game replays on February 10 and 11, along with a 55-minute highlight version. Viewers can tune in on ESPN (DStv 218, Starsat 248) and ESPN2 (DStv 219, Starsat 249). All times are in Central Africa Time (CAT).
The Caesars Superdome, with a capacity of 83,000, will host the event, adding to New Orleans’ legacy as a premier Super Bowl destination. Fans can follow updates on ESPN Africa’s social media platforms using the hashtag #ESPNAfricaSuperBowlLVIII.
