LOS ANGELES, CA — Hugh Grant, the iconic star of romantic comedies, recently opened up about his early encounters with Sandra Bullock, his co-star in the 2002 film Two Weeks Notice. During a discussion on BBC, Grant reflected on their first meeting five years prior to filming, a moment that inadvertently created an awkward three-year distance between them.

Grant expressed enthusiasm about working with Bullock, stating, “We’d been dying to do something for ages. I had been watching Sandy for years and thinking, ‘That’s the girl I should be doing films with.’” Despite this initial excitement, their first meeting took a surprising turn that left an unfavorable impression.

The actor recalled, “We first met up about five years ago and had what Hollywood calls ‘a relationship meeting,’ where you talk about the possibility of working together. I told Sandy a very disgusting story, which I think revolted her. She left the room, and I didn’t hear from her for three years after that.”

Though Grant did not divulge the particulars of the story, it was clear it had a lasting effect. Bullock later shared her perspective in an interview with Blackfilm, remarking on Grant’s tendency to be blunt. “I feel he needs to curb himself because if you really heard what he thinks, he’s going to offend whoever he’s talking to,” she said. “They want it to be sort of sugar-coated. I think that anyone who appreciates and gets Hugh will appreciate the fact that he comes from a very strong viewpoint.”

Despite the rocky start, the pair developed a strong chemistry during the filming of Two Weeks Notice. Their rapport translated well on-screen, contributing to the film’s success, which grossed approximately $199 million globally, according to Box Office Mojo.

In recent years, Grant’s self-deprecating humor and charisma have kept him in the public eye, while Bullock continues to captivate audiences with her performances. Their candid revelations about their early interactions offer a humorous insight into the realities of Hollywood relationships.
