Hyderabad Rain Clouds

Residents of Hyderabad should prepare for rain or thundershowers today, as well as generally cloudy conditions with light rain expected throughout the week. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in the city is anticipated to reach 32 degrees Celsius, with a minimum temperature of around 24 degrees Celsius. These weather conditions may result in localized heavy downpours in certain areas, prompting authorities to advise preparedness for possible disruptions, especially in regions susceptible to waterlogging.

From October 10 to 14, the forecast for Hyderabad includes generally cloudy skies with light rain or drizzle likely between October 10 and 12. During this period, temperatures are expected to remain stable, ranging from a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius. On October 13 and 14, partly cloudy skies with the development of thunderstorms are anticipated, with the maximum temperature potentially rising to 34 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to expect a mix of clouds and occasional rainfall during this timeframe.

The IMD has also issued a ‘yellow alert’ for several regions across Peninsular and Northeast India, projecting heavy rainfall over the next six days. Areas included in this alert are Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

In southern India, particularly in the states of Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, and Lakshadweep, moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated. Isolated showers are expected to affect North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

On Wednesday, October 9, the Indian Meteorological Department issued a thunderstorm alert for 11 districts in Telangana, including Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal. The IMD bulletin indicates that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places within these districts.

For Hyderabad and surrounding areas, the next 24 hours will see generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thundershowers. The IMD forecast suggests maximum and minimum temperatures will likely remain around 32 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
