Jaguars Receiver Struggling In Nfl Game

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Jacksonville Jaguars faced challenges this week as receiver Travis Thomas struggles in his second NFL season, while the team released safety Darnell Savage.

Thomas was targeted 19 times in the first two games but caught just five passes for 60 yards. He expressed frustration after a recent loss, stating, “It’s super frustrating… Just have to put it behind you and go on to the next week.” Thomas dropped potential touchdown passes during the game, contributing to miscommunication with quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Coach Liam Coen emphasized the importance of having Thomas involved in their passing game, stating, “It’s something where I’ve got to be better for him and vice versa.” Lawrence added that both need more time to improve their rapport. “We’ve got to help each other out,” he said.

As for Savage, he was released after starting 13 games last season. His playing time declined this year following the addition of new safeties in free agency. Savage played in the first two games but logged only one tackle.

Coen confirmed his struggles and stated they will address ways to support Thomas moving forward. “He needs to have a better week this week,” Coen said. “We’ve got to get to the root of it.”

Despite the challenges, Thomas remains confident, stating, “I’ve just got to make the plays. When the ball is thrown to you, just make the plays.”
