Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes have been announced as the latest additions to the cast of the highly-anticipated sequel ‘28 Years Later‘. The sequel, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, is set to continue the narrative of the zombie horror genre.

The original film, ‘28 Days Later‘, starred Cillian Murphy and gained global acclaim for its post-apocalyptic storyline involving a zombie outbreak in the UK. Boyle and Garland are set to helm the new installment, aiming to kick off a trilogy inspired by the success of the 2002 classic.

Cillian Murphy, executive producer of the film, will make a return in a different capacity this time around. The original movie not only revitalized the zombie genre but also propelled the careers of its lead actors and creators.

Jodie Comer, known for her Emmy-winning role in ‘Killing Eve‘ and recent appearances in ‘Free Guy‘ and ‘The Last Duel‘, joins the cast alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who is rumored for the role of the next James Bond, and Ralph Fiennes, currently starring in ‘Macbeth‘ in Washington DC.

Sony Pictures secured the rights for ’28 Years Later’ after a competitive bidding process, with Garland already working on a script for a potential follow-up. Cillian Murphy’s involvement, both as an executive producer and a potential actor, adds to the excitement surrounding the project.

The casting news was first revealed by The Credits, a platform celebrating the unsung heroes of the film industry who contribute significantly to the success of movies and TV shows.
