Comedian John Mulaney and actor Olivia Munn have announced the birth of their second child, a daughter named Méi June Mulaney. The announcement was made via an Instagram post by Munn on Sunday, following the child’s birth on Thursday through a surrogate.

Shared alongside a family photograph taken on a hospital bed, Munn expressed her emotions regarding the surrogacy process. “I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter,” Munn stated. “When I first met our gestational surrogate, we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding; I knew I had found a real-life angel. Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true.”

Munn also explained the significance of their daughter’s name, saying “Méi means plum in Chinese” and should be pronounced as “May.” The couple, who share a two-year-old son, Malcolm, officially married in July this year.

In a humorous social media post, Mulaney, aged 42, joked about their recent hospital stay, exclaiming, “We stole so much stuff from the hospital. I love my little girl so much.”

In April of last year, Munn, aged 44, publicly shared her breast cancer diagnosis and detailed her treatment journey, which included a double mastectomy. She credited her partner, Mulaney, for his unwavering support during the difficult times, as revealed in an interview with People magazine in March, saying it “would have felt like climbing an iceberg without him.”

The couple began dating in 2021 and welcomed their first child, Malcolm, in November of the same year. Munn’s open disclosure about her health challenges has sparked discussions about the importance of breast cancer screening.
