Julian Strawther Denver Nuggets Playoff Performance

DENVER, Colo. — Julian Strawther is making his mark for the Denver Nuggets after recovering from an injury that sidelined him until March. The young guard was averaging 24 minutes a game before his injury, but his role diminished during the playoffs, especially against the LA Clippers. Recently, however, he has seen more court time, particularly in the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

During Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals, Strawther impressed with an eight-minute stint spanning the first and second quarters. Although he was not present to start the fourth quarter, his contributions were crucial; he scored a three-pointer, grabbed two rebounds, assisted a teammate, and made a steal against Lu Dort. As Denver battles to stay alive in the series, every ounce of help counts.

“I would be lying if I said there weren’t days when it was tough,” Strawther said post-game. “But my teammates kept uplifting me with positive messages. I’m so thankful for their support during my recovery.” The 23-year-old added that being part of a playoff team again feels rewarding, even as the pressure mounts.

The Nuggets now face a critical Game 6 on Thursday against the Thunder, entering the matchup with a 3-2 deficit. Coach David Adelman might give Strawther more playing time, given the team’s shooting struggles in recent games. While he lacks NBA playoff experience, he boasts significant postseason success from his college days, including a trip to the National Championship.

As the Nuggets prepare, they’ll need to rally around their young players, including Strawther, to elevate their game and force a Game 7.
