Kerala Plus Two Results 2024: Pass Percentage Drops, Over 39,000 Students Score A+ Grades

The Kerala Plus Two results for the academic year 2024 have been announced, revealing a notable drop in the overall pass percentage under the Kerala Syllabus. The pass percentage this year stood at 78.69%, indicating a decrease of 4.2% from the previous year’s figures. Despite the drop, a significant number of students – a total of 39,242 – managed to secure A+ grades for all subjects, showcasing their outstanding performance.

The announcement of the results was made by Kerala’s Minister for General Education, V Sivankutty, at a press meet held in Thiruvananthapuram. The results come after the Higher Secondary examinations were conducted from March 1 to 26, with a total of 294,888 out of the 374,755 students who appeared for the exams qualifying for higher education.

As per the data released, the pass percentage varied across different streams, with Science students achieving the highest pass percentage at 84.84%, followed by Commerce at 76.11% and Humanities at 67.09%. In terms of district-wise performance, Malappuram stood out with the highest number of students scoring A+ grades for all subjects, totaling 5,659.

When it comes to district-wise pass percentages, Ernakulam recorded the highest at 84.12%, while Wayanad marked the lowest pass percentage at 72.13%. The results also highlighted that a significant number of schools, totaling 63, achieved a 100% pass rate, reflecting the dedication and hard work of both students and teachers.

Looking ahead, for students who couldn’t perform satisfactorily in the Plus Two exams this year, the Save a Year (SAY) exam, also known as the Improvement Exam, is scheduled to take place from June 12 to 20, offering them an opportunity to enhance their scores.

In total, 25,000 teachers participated in evaluating the answer sheets of both Plus One and Plus Two exams at 77 evaluation camps set up across the state, ensuring a fair and accurate assessment process.
