Killeen ISD Offers Guide for Addressing Campus Concerns

Killeen, Texas – The Killeen Independent School District released a guide on Tuesday to assist parents with campus concerns. The district encourages families to engage directly with educators to resolve issues effectively.
“When questions or concerns arise, the first step is to talk with the person who knows your child best during the school day—their teacher,” Iris Felder, KISD’s executive director for student support services, stated in the release. She emphasized that a simple conversation can lead to clarity and keep the focus on the child’s success.
The guide outlines a step-by-step process for addressing concerns. If families need additional support, they should first contact the teacher, then the assistant principal, and finally the principal if needed. This structured approach allows for quick resolution by the appropriate personnel.
“Parents and guardians are essential partners with Killeen ISD in their child’s education,” Felder noted. “Every conversation we have is a chance to strengthen trust with our families. When we follow these steps together, we solve concerns faster and keep the focus where it belongs—student success and well-being.”
The district suggests that if parents have questions about classroom experiences, grades, behavior, or learning, they should reach out to the teacher first. If the issue remains unresolved, the assistant principal should be contacted next, followed by the principal if necessary.
If the principal cannot resolve the issue, parents may contact the district for further assistance.
