E18 and Klaratunnel Lane Closures Scheduled for Maintenance
STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Major roadwork will close sections of the E18 highway and the Klaratunnel during the week of November 10, 2025, as part of routine maintenance efforts.
The E18 between Hjulsta and Kista will see overnight closures from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. On Tuesday, November 11, work will begin on the stretch from Hjulsta to Rinkeby, affecting traffic heading toward central Stockholm. Drivers will be rerouted via the Akallalänken and Hanstavägen for access to Kista and Sundbyberg.
On Wednesday, November 12, closures on the E18 will shift to the Rinkeby to Hjulsta section, affecting routes towards Enköping, Västerås, and Oslo. Drivers again will need to take alternative routes as Kymlingelänken will remain open for specific traffic directions.
Additionally, the Klaratunnel in central Stockholm will close in both directions on Friday night, November 14, for maintenance work. The tunnel connects Centralbron with Sveavägen and Mäster Samuelsgatan.
From November 10 through December 2, Rättar Vigs väg will also be closed at the Järneksvägen intersection for vehicle and bicycle traffic, though pedestrian access will remain open.
More additional roadwork is scheduled during the week, including paving work on several roads like Ringvägen and Högbergsgatan on November 10 and 11, which will occur from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
This influx of operations is part of an extensive plan to keep the roads safe and well-maintained for the nearly 7,000 attendees expected during the Christmas display inauguration in mid-November. Traffic disruptions are anticipated as various buses will also reroute due to ongoing work and demonstrations happening in the city.
The public is advised to check traffic advisories for the latest updates and plan their routes accordingly to minimize delays.
