Las Vegas Weather Forecast Fremont Street Experience

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Weather forecasts for Southern Nevada are shifting, with significant rain expected this weekend. The storm system has slowed its movement, but scattered showers are likely to begin Friday, intensifying on Saturday. Snow is also expected in the Sierra Nevada range, with several inches possible above 9,000 feet.

On Wednesday, Las Vegas experienced mostly cloudy skies with high temperatures around 76 degrees. The wind remained light, and air quality was reported as ‘good’ to ‘moderate’ with low pollen levels. Tonight, temperatures will drop to the mid and upper 50s as skies transition from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy.

The anticipated storm could bring rain to the valley, with total amounts projected between 0.10 inches and 0.75 inches. Officials note that the snow levels have risen due to warmer temperatures associated with the storm. Looking ahead, temperatures in the valley will dip into the low 60s over the weekend.

In another development, Andrew Simon, president and CEO of the Fremont Street Experience entertainment district, will step down to pursue new opportunities. Simon, who has led the district since late 2020, has been credited with steering the area through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and enhancing its reputation as a key tourist attraction.

Mark Brandenburg, chairman of the Fremont Street Board, praised Simon’s leadership, emphasizing his commitment to making Fremont Street a safe and welcoming destination for both locals and tourists. A search for his successor will begin immediately, with a focus on candidates with experience in the entertainment industry.
